Button Help

Postby Krescentwolf » Tue Apr 30, 2013 5:01 am

Specifically, I'm working on a BGM-style screen, and I'm basically using buttons to do it at the moment.

Basically linking buttons to the 'play sound' command. However, going from one BGM to the next crossfades the sounds, so I was wondering if there was a way to make a button that -stops- whatever sound/bgm is playing atm.

Since I haven't really gotten into the scripting side of Novelty yet, please bare with me ;)

Or is there maybe an easier way to go about making such a 'BGM' page/screen?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section... Like I said, this is basically the first time I've even touched the scripting side of Novelty... And I don't really have a scripting background as it is, so a lot the references go right over my head -_-;

I get the basic idea, though.

for your example, I would link that code to the run script command by When Clicked.... however when I do that and test it, nothing happens... clicking the button does nothing at all... Or do I simply have the whole idea twisted wrong? :oops:

To use the script you do it like this.

Basically, void means function that return nothing and if you want to get the script inside those function running all you need to do is call the function name. So when you have two/more button it's like this.

Excellent! I got it to work! Thanks for being patient with me :)

Was getting confused on how to use the run script section... didn't realize it was just to call on individual functions inside a saved script.

My BGM page thanks you :mrgreen:
