Mink's Art

Postby Mink » Sun Jul 03, 2011 8:04 am

Since I feel I need to post more here, I've decided to make a thread for my art. Most of it will probably be just sketches, concept art, involving...whatever. Probably VN projects. So without further ado:

Teenage October, who I'll make into a sprite and replace in Say You Love Me eventually. (Not that I don't like Skim's, I would just like to use the OC version):

Character sketch for an older October:

October pushing Van to move:

Yes, she's got pants on. They're just light-colored.

The second two are actually for a sequel. Which will actually be planned out this time, I swear! Oh, and uh...Spoiler. That's what Van looks like. Yeah, that's not really much of a spoiler.

Bleh, I tried keeping in mind what Avaible said. Probably failed at it, though. I'm sure if I draw enough it'll improve. ;P

Fonts are Death Rattle and Anime Ace, FYI

Here, October hitting Van upside the head. In the sequel, I plan on giving the option to do something you shouldn't, but if you do, you immediately get called on it. The scene in mind for this was October notes they're being followed and tells Van to keep going and don't look. This is what happens if the player chooses to look.

FFFUUU-Van should probably be more kinetic. I guess the idea was that he stiffened when she hit him, but I don't think that comes across well. :C And I need to learn to draw shoulders better. And folds in clothing. 8|

And no, this wasn't meant to be as cleaned up before; I didn't like how I wrote it (really a note for myself), and so I half cleaned it up and added the fonts.

"Yes, she's got pants on."

I see nothing wrong with a faerie wearing a loin cloth. ;)
Why? I like big ones, that's why.

Oh yeah, you could totally reason away her being pants-less as being a faerie and a creature of nature, but I didn't want to make this an adult game. XP Though it's kind of close, I guess, that she always wears shirts that show her stomach, for some reason.

lol I like adult ;)
Sam nodded, keeping his face pleasantly neutral. "Thank you. That would be perfect." He even managed to act like having a guy on his arm was the most natural thing in the world. Oh, Max owed him big time after this one.

Avaible: Well, maybe not Adult+, but I imagine a half naked girl might not exactly be, ah, general audiences.

beingdanny: If you're looking for that in the sequel (...s), you're going to be sorely disappointed. >x>

Not that I have a *problem* with adult stories. However, this isn't porn, nor would sex contribute anything to the plot (character development or otherwise). And since neither of those apply, I feel like adding adult scenes would only be pandering. :/

Anyways, on topic:
Van Profile.JPG

Vaaan.
October Profile.png

Octobeeer.

A couple of things. 1) in the second game you see more of Van's personality, which is pretty much a Deadpan Snarker. Then again, this IS meant to be a parody/satirical of various things . 2) you see more of October's personality. Keep in mind, she *is* a fey creature.

Eh I was jesting. Thusly the wink. You do what works best for you in your story. Especially if you're a kid. I would be sadly disappointed to see adult concepts in the work of a minor. For the most part, no it isn't appropriate, especially for younger audiences. However, I'm an adult and I do tend to allude to the fact that sex happened as part of a natural course in the next step of adult relationships. But they also contain other things such as violence, death, and other creepy stuff.

So on the bright side, now you know who's work not to play through.

Sequel? Did you post your first story and I missed it?

Yeah, Avaible's got it. Though it's technically, at the time of this writing, it's not 'officially' released. >x>

And I'm old enough that even if I did add adult content, it shouldn't be too creepy or make people wonder why someone of my age is making something like that. I'm also the sort of person who likes to make stories that anyone, in general, would be able to read. But I'm not averse to implying something and letting the audience's minds fill in the gaps. 8D [strike]

And on that note, sketch for the second game's main antagonist:
Wednesday Profile.png
Wednesday Profile.png (81.31 KiB) Viewed 6677 times

Loli-chaaan~!

Kidding, kidding. Sort of. She's a loli character, but she's meant to be a deconstruction of characters who . As such, she's (and probably back story) going to be written as unsettlingly (...is that a word? Eh, it is now) creepy as possible to get the point across.

And before you ask, while I think loli (and shota. Shota too) is *really* creepy, I'd be less annoyed by people who are at least honest about what they're doing. >x>
