I'm trying to develop a chubby male character, but often he comes out looking muscular, or like a skinny person with bloated skin.

they look pretty good to me actually, as far as developing a chubby guy goes, you might broaden the shoulders more since that will give him a larger frame surface when looking at him

I don't think this will become an in-game graphic, but it was fun making it.

If I do use it in-game I'd definitely re-ink it

I drew them for a contest, but I will probably not win (since I didn't follow the contest specifications).
